What we Believe

We at Sovereign Grace Bible Church strive to glorify God through the faithful exposition in preaching, constancy in prayer, and offering the hope of the Gospel to the local community and beyond.

We live this out in faith and practice as we embrace what is known as the doctrines of grace and the Five Solas of the Reformation.

The Five Solas are five Latin phrases (or slogans) that emerged from the Protestant Reformation intended to summarize the Reformers’ basic theological principles in contrast to certain teachings of the Roman Catholic Church of the day. “Sola” is Latin meaning “alone” or “only” and the corresponding phrases are:

Five Solas plaque

Sola Fide, by faith alone.
Sola Scriptura, by Scripture alone.
Solus Christus, through Christ alone.
Sola Gratia, by grace alone.
Soli Deo Gloria, glory to God alone.

We also embrace and subscribe to doctrines outlines in the Bible and expressed in the The 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.
